Cognitive Health Group Services

The Cognitive Health Group is a team of health professionals offering cognitive-behavioral treatment for anxiety, depression, and related concerns. Located near the Museum of Natural History on Manhattan's Upper West Side, the Cognitive Health Group is easily reached by subway, cross-town bus, and the west side highway. We offer individual therapy, psychological evaluation and professional training.

Fees, Payment and Insurance

The cost of an individual therapy session ranges from $65 to $250. We accept checks, Visa and MasterCard. If you see one of our licensed psychologists out-of-network then you may be eligible for partial reimbursement through your insurance plan.

Services

Individual Sessions (one-on-one meetings with a therapist)

  • Cognitive Behavior Therapy: For anxiety, panic, stress, depression, bipolar disorder, anger, and unwanted habits (smoking, hair pulling, nail biting, skin picking).
  • Integrative Cognitive Behavior Therapy: A combination of cognitive-behavioral and traditional psychotherapy to prepare clients for active change. Our integrative approach views therapeutic change as a process that unfolds through stages: 1) ignore and avoid, 2)openly explore the problem, 3) understand problem related circumstances and take responsibility for change, 4) plan and take action, and 5) maintain change. Effective psychotherapy helps the patient move through these stages. The therapist is skilled at identifying a client's current stage, tailoring the therapy to address that stage, and coaching you to the next stage until the process is complete.
  • Intensive CBT: A concentrated program of graded exposure and skills training to speed recovery of panic, phobias, agorophobia and OCD. Skills include cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, mindfulness and relationship enhancement.
